　　解读：(不可能：impossible, technological development can only facilitate teaching, not replacing;/不必要human interaction is the key to high efficiency/education means more than knowledge learning.)

　　•2.Some people think that college students should focus on specific subjects that they are good at or they find interesting while others believe that they should be encouraged to study a whole range of different subjects. What is your opinion?

　　解读：(全面：arouse their interest in science, and they can be more positive towards learning even after graduation; after learning a whole range of subjects, they can finally access what most attracts them./具体：concentrate their attention on some subjects, which facilitates the efficiency in study; avoid distraction of subjects which bore them to death.)

　　•3. Do you agree with the opinion that the advantage of social networking technologies, such as Facebook or Twitter is more than the disadvantage?

　　•解读：(Facebook, Bebo, Sina Microblog…/优点：People, especially those strangers, can gain more communication, and share what they have, information, opinion, or emotion;Social integration can keep us reassured./缺点：Individual privacy is in the danger of invading and leaking./We tend to be influenced by public opinion, losing the initiative.

　　•4. Unlike other countries, police in UK do not carry guns. Some think it leaves citizen unprotected, while others think it reduces the overall violence in our society. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

　　• 解读：(支持Those potential criminals are usually heavily armed, so both the police and people alike will be in danger./反对Violence begets violence. Head-on conflict involving guns can only lead to more bloodshed./Education and punishment integrated are the most effective way to deter crimes.)

　　• 5. What is the advantage and disadvantage of advertisement in modern society?

　　• 解读：(优点Advertisements serve as an effective bridge between potential consumers and qualified commodities./While goods are promoted, public service advertisements aim to arouse people’s concern about social vulnerable groups, such as displaced people, drop-outs./缺点exaggerated information misleads consumers to buy unnecessary or, even, fake ones./Some advertisements are targeted at children, affecting their study.)

　　• 6. Some people believe that women should join the police force or military force while others oppose. What is your opinion?

　　• 解读：(反对Taking into account women’s physical characteristics, we protect them from joining some strength-demanding jobs./支持Not all the jobs, even the police or the army, focus only on physical power, caring more intellectual fields./gender discrimination originated in so-called protection, or while lies. The freedom has to be respected.)

　　• 7. How can countries ensure that tourism can benefit the development?

　　解读：(cultural conflict, environmental pollution./The protection of environment, and traditional legacy should be top of anything else, economy included./Local countries are more tolerant towards tourists, who should respect cultures, especially cultural taboos.)

　　• 8. Pollution and other environmental damages result from national development and the fact that countries become richer, so it is unavoidable. What is your opinion?

　　• 解读：(Economic development is rosy, and should be promoted all the way./Technological progress makes it possible to coordinate economic growth and environmental protection, such as green technology, solar energy, wind energy./Enhancing the living standards includes both materialistic and spiritual satisfaction, so more possessions obtained but more pollutions ensuing can never justify so-call richer life.)

　　• 9. It is believed that charity organizations should provide help for people of their own countries while others believe that those organizations should give aid to people in great need, wherever they live. What is your opinion?

　　• 解读：(the gist of charity is to help those in greatest need, so time and space should be never the barrier; local and international charity organizations should coordinate with each other to maximize the efficiency.)

　　• 10. In today's world, it is private companies rather than governments who pay for and carry out most of the scientific researches. Do you think the advantages outweigh disadvantages?
