Keep pets in the dorms can enrich students’ school life to some extent. Students may have more fun while playing with their pets after a whole-day study in addition to other activities. They can feed their pets, taking good care of them, and enjoy the time even together with their roommates. Also in the process of taking care of pets, students can develop their patience and become more considerate. It stimulates their love and care for those cute small animals and also for people around, which help students to do well in interpersonal relationship.

It depends on different situations. Popular celebrities are usually with great accomplishment in their career or other respect of life. Their great efforts that has been done over the years can largely encourage and inspire young people because usually young people who admire them tend to want to be as successful as they do. So good examples can be set for young people in some cases. However, there are frequently something that will definitely cause adverse effects on young people because today some celebrities misbehave in their personal life. Drugs, crimes, scandals and other immoral or even illegal issues happen a lot. With no doubt, it sets up bad examples for young people and may even result in irrational imitation among teenagers.

学校offer一个required practice interview来帮学生成功找到工作，了解面试会被问到的问题；这个会安排在最后一个学期，因为那会儿学生都开始找工作了

听力部分

学生不认为helpful

Reason 1 问题不realistic, 不是actual situation 会让学生面对employer的时候get nervous，学生不会take it serious

Reason 2 not a good timing,在最后几个月有research and paper要做，还要忙final exam，说不定还要去part-time job

The school is going to offer a required practice interview for students in order to help students find a job successfully after graduation. It will be in the last semester when students start looking for a job.

The woman doesn’t think it helpful because she thinks those questions are not realistic or for actual situation and students will get nervous when facing a real employer in an interview. And students won’t take it serious. Also it is not a good timing to have it in last few months because they have researches and paper to do, final exams to prepare and even part-time jobs to do.

一般动物不会change living environment但是有些会在young的时候在freshwater environment生存，因为safe，等长大了get older/mature了就去saltwater environment，这种move from freshwater to saltwater可以满足它们的survival needs

salmon在young的时候，还没长大到一个full size前，会在river游来游去，safe from predators，长大了就要去ocean觅食了，等他们要give birth to babies的时候会回到river

Animals usually live with an unchanging environment but some would live in freshwater environment at a young age because it is safe and then move to saltwater environment when getting older. This moving from freshwater to saltwater can meet their survival needs.

In the lecture the professor demonstrate that salmons live in river where they are safe from predators when they are young, before growing to a full size. And when they become mature, they move to the ocean where there are more food for them to grow. They get back to the river when they have to give birth to babies.

Problem: 这个男生有张jazz concert的门票，但是他不确定自己能不能去，虽然非常looking forward to但是同一晚上有个audition

Solution 1先去concert但是花了好多钱买票只能看一部分很不爽

Solution 2第二天也有audition可以第一晚去concert，但是第一天的是主演的。第二天的他不会have much fun

The man meets a problem that he has a ticket for a jazz concert but he is not so sure if he could go there. Though he is so looking forward to it, there is an audition at the same night. There are two possible solutions for him. He can go to the concert first and leave for the audition or he can enjoy the concert and take part in the second day of the audition. My preference goes to going to the first solution because though he considers unhappy since he has paid a lot on the ticket for the concert, he could take part in the major part of the audition because if he just go to the audition on the second day, he will not have much fun.

教授先说了有advantage但是我们来谈谈drawbacks

第一，会难以establish professional image，比如在家里prepare food for a big event的时候，别人听到你们家宝宝在哭，肯定觉得不专业了嘛

第二，难以确立boundaries of personal life and business，还会让邻居不爽，比如你们家来了一堆worker，邻居要抱怨停车位都被你们给占了

The professor explains the drawbacks of home-base business by two examples. It is hard to establish professional image to do home-base business. For example, when people are preparing food for a big event, but suddenly they hear your baby crying, they will think you are not professional enough. Also it is very hard to distinguish the boundaries of personal life and business and may make neighbors unhappy. For instance, there a couple of workers at your home, they have to park cars so that the neighbors may complain a lot about parking lots being occupied by your workers.
